I can't believe he set me free!
What did I do that's wrong?
He can't see what's inside of me;
It sounds like a country song.
I don't know why I even tried
with that shallow man I love.
Through countless evil hurts, I cried
witnessed only by God above.
I wish I could just give it up.
See it as a long lost cause,
and drown myself deep in my cup,
to give myself a lengthy pause.
I know that I should feel relief
that the end of it is now,
but I cannot kill my belief
that I'll get him back somehow.
he doesn't want to be with me;
He won't believe his eyes.
I'll hide my hurt, so he won't see,
he'll never hear my cries.
One day, he'll change his mind, you see
just imagine, fancy that!
But then, he'll have to come to me
and that's when he'll find what?
He'll expect me to be just the same
when he gets a good look in.
He'll see the change that's in the game
the change that came within.
