As a child you meant so much to me You were my branch reaching out to this family tree
Feeling close to you, I wanted nothing to ever change But soon life interfered, everything rearranged
Words were spoken without knowledge, they were meant to cause you pain Setting free my emotions, breaking away these chains
Days as daddy's little girl soon became no more Nothing would be the same as they had been before
Everything was different, we grew so far away What was once so strong, slowly began to decay
Rotting from the surface, eating it's way inside Only left untouched, feeding at my pride
Now that time has passed - Yet still unable to forget Filled with anger, sorrow, and much regret
I want to mend my soul, sew it back to you Take this as an apology that's long, long over due
I'm Sorry

How best could you put, my dad is not here any more; he died 19 years ago before he would hear my words and see what kind of man I would be. I'm glad you appreciate your dad so much. Thanks for sharing your speacial moment with me. |
