I sit here and think about
What you said to me
But all I do is draw a blank
About you and me
I just don't know how I feel
You said I hide my feelings
And make jokes about us
I wish I could feel the way you do
But I can't or maybe I don't want to
I still feel sad and confused inside
All my past feelings that I pushed aside
Seem to hold me back
Maybe that is why I joke
I don't feel I'm ready
Or maybe I'm just afraid
I'm just glad I made you feel better about things

Sounds like there's lots of confusion here, and fear of allowing oneself to trust and be vulnerable... very real relationship issues you've captured, nicely done.
