where forgotten dreams are once more recalled where jagged memories soften when reviewed where everything that once mattered, doesn't in this grave, i lie alone
where helping hands may no longer reach where careless words no longer sting life was fumbling foreplay in path to this tender bliss in this grave, i lie alone
where repentance seems a hollow hobby where night and day are much the same the smile i'd lost finally returns in this grave, i lie alone
you said you loved me and i believed foolish, i thought our love was set in stone then with no warning, your love was gone and i was left to weep alone
and in that moment, i died alone

A deep sad poem, but with a meaning that holds so much truth to it.
Beautifully written as always Cancer.
I hope to read more when I am next onsite. |

I commented on this 2 years ago. i said flatly that 'i do not like it.'
well, I was just now, searching for my own email address on google for complicated reasons, and i came across this link.
Mistakenly, I thought it was a poem that I had written, and completley forgot about. (in this grave, i lie alone sounds brilliantly like something id say) so i begain to read it as if it were spawned from my own mind...
I thought to myself, GOSH i like this poem. I did a good job on this. I cannot remember this at all but gosh i sure did a super job on it.
Halfway through the poem i realized (quite sadly, and dissapointedly, actually, for i would love to take credit for it) that it was indeed not mine and quite indeed yours.
i loved the stanzas,
where forgotten dreams are once more recalled
where jagged memories soften when reviewed
where everything that once mattered, doesn't
in this grave, i lie alone
where helping hands may no longer reach
where careless words no longer sting
life was fumbling foreplay
in path to this tender bliss
in this grave, i lie alone
ESPECIALLY the lines
where jagged memories soften when reviewed
and
where careless words no longer sting
life was fumbling foreplay
in path to this tender bliss
it all sound so apathetic and despondent...
not despairing... not caring...
it feels like me and i wish i wrote it. Let's transfer ownership of this poem, Roy.
(((bathe in smoothly flowing poisons of my mind)))
