EVERYBODY LOVES MONTIE

Have you ever watched the TV show,
"Everybody Loves Raymond?"
In Wyoming it's been changed to
"Everybody Loves Montie," he's lots of fun!
When Montie was born C-Section, he was premature,
and placed in an incubator.
Always face down with a black mask over his eyes.
He wanted his freedom, he was mad.....
so he flipped from his stomach to back, when
only three days old, hard to realize!
The nurse that saw him as she told....
"I've worked here for 25 years, never heard,
nor have I seen anything like this unfold!"
Living in a small Illinois village
Everyone knew Montie for his mileage.
Two wheel tricycle was his transportation.
Down the sidewalk going "Pell-Mell"
half way to town, racing without caution.
He was part fish, there was no doubt!
Any kind of water, mud puddle, leak...creek,
even toilet bowl, pantsless wade-in, timeout!
As Montie grew older, and slowly matured.
Even before his feet hit the floor,
he never stopped or detoured!
Somehow, he managed to open the back door....
Fell three large steps below, He's Dead, I was sure!
No tears, no time to stop.....only 9 months old,
racing as fast as my legs would go.....
he had crawled half-way to the fence tenfold!
I took him to the best Neurologist I would find.
"Dr. I'm alarmed, my son doesn't seem to feel.
He gets bruised everyday and never
cries, It's unreal?"
Thorough examination, Montie just loved it!
Dr. assured, "There's nothing wrong with Montie,
He's not a misfit, nor half-wit, he just loves
life....so let him rip, let him zip!"
I was completely exhausted, he was
barely a year old!
Aged & tired 43 year old Mother...
He simply cannot be controlled!
But, "Everybody Loved Montie," especially old me.
My life's career, watching over him,
so he could be "Zip-Free!"
In school, teacher's pet....but,
no one seemed to mind, for even in school,
"Everybody Loved Montie," he was always so kind!
Whether you were black or white, old or young,
Montie loved everybody, anybody, everyone!
So, "Everybody continues to Love Montie,"
even to this day!
"Could you loan me a couple, Mont until payday?"
"Sure," is his response, "How much do you need?"
We have six dogs, he brings home all that stray....
He's generous, kind, and considerate
to all, in everyway!
Yes, it's true "Everybody Loves Montie!"
People he works with, his crew, love him,
'cause he's so zippy!
No one can ever hope to catch up with him,
and his zeal.
He's humorous, joyful, sometimes even unreal!
But, "Everybody Loves Montie," especially
his old Mom!
He sings, whistles, with a kiss here, a hug there,
like a beautiful Psalm.
Yes, he is almost 24, and I'll turn 67 in April.
I'm so thankful that
"Everybody Loves Montie," my son.
Grateful even more, that because of his warm love, I may look like his Grandma.....but his loving heart has kept me so warm and young.
How could anyone not "Love Montie,"
He's always been a beautiful walking song, repeatedly hummed.......

Heres to you Monte! Its no wonder he has turned out to be such a wonderful young man because of his beautiful dear hearted mother lending her hand. There needs to be more people on this earth like the two of you! Wonderful light hearted write my friend just beautiful

| My goodness, you were blessed with a special gift from heaven. My eldest son has always been like this. Always the happy optimist. Always singing and happy and everyday is a new day. He pulls you up when your down. You can't help but be full of his joy with him. Yes, God does give wonderful gifts. God is so good. Rita |
