the little girl that couldn't

Contributed by Candi on Monday, 29th December 2003 @ 05:31:32 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

wake up little girl
too much sleep is bad for you
sit up straight little girl
drink your milk
be a good little girl
dont talk back
make your bed
it's all in your head
cry somemore
another chore
clean your plate
no staying up late
watch your mouth
stay on the couch
never leave the house
no life
no friends
pray it ends

You must have had my mother. Did you get the beatings too?
I hung out with my dad.
Cars, boats, Trucks, planes.

Another thing...sometimes when a poem is not read, think.
What is the first thing that is seen?
Not the Author's name , but the title.
That hone's the edge.
Only the material can wreck the poem after that.
