I wish I could have seen
Something come true that was but a dream
Friendship was the only path we would together take
My affection for you was far from fake
We are good friends no longer
Each day the pains in my heart grow stronger
We barely talk or meet
Overcoming this is a great feat
But despite all that now goes on between you and I
You still brighten my sky
And though it was only a dream
Sometimes it did seem
That it would come true
It did in ME but not in YOU
"Life moves on" you say to me
And now I can clearly see
That you were but a dream, one that was sweet and kind
None like it again shall I ever find
