Written in the Sand January 3, 2004
My consistentcy as the tide, Comes in and out every day and night, While my sun sets and my waters grow stronger, Your desires are coming more often and last longer. Your sun is rising, your land warming to see. The sand you are made of, is touched by me. But these waves of mine are a tease to your grains, As I come and go so quickly, elevating your pains. Forever ruled by the moon and it's weather, Predicts are relationship, and how it is tethered. Wrapped up and forgotten, the ocean... Our love, the forecast's notion... One depends on the other, This hourglass of your truth, Is my proof. I don't need your whispered promises, see? Our time together is always strained, And in your heart I know I'll always be, So in our moments of affection. I long perfection. With the grains of this hourglass slipping away, I'll bring in the tide to savor this day. Your arms of sand can reach for my hand, And we'll always and forever, Live long, unchanging and true. So again, My sun will set as yours will rise, But this new day I've got a suprise. My love and longing for you, Is written in the sand...
