This world is not as big as it may seem,
Not as big as the one in your dream,
Never allow you heart to stray,
Always cherish each and every day,
For you could be dead in the blink of an eye,
With another blink; all you love could die.
We wish this life was like the childhood we see,
We hate the fact this life is such a hurtfull reality,
From wars to hunger to murder to so much pain,
We have so little to lose; and so much to gain,
Yet we still live in a world where you are judged by your skin,
We all act like we are right, not knowing we sometimes live in sin.
Why can love cause so much hate,
Why can we not begin to understand our fate,
Life is what we make it, this held to be true,
But who decides our life, not I nor you,
Why worry so much about little things that seem to stun,
When all we do is end up where we begun,
Smile is what we all hear,
How can one smile in a world filled with so much fear.
I am sometimes tired of the world I know,
I wish I could pack up my heart and go,
I still have so much love to give,
So much life to live,
Until I can no longer sing,
I will just sit back and watch what life can bring.
