HAPPY BIRTHDAY NORM

Contributed by lovingcritters on Saturday, 10th January 2004 @ 02:42:54 AM in AEST
Topic: BirthdayPoems

Mick helped me with your picture....and he too, would like to wish you a wonderful Happy Birthday from him to you!

Hi there Norm, on your 28th,
you young rascal you!
When you made the switch,
What was the first thing you wanted to do?
Go Sailing, Take a jog, or a big swig of your
wodka with gin?

Let's see now in one sec.....
You've lost your Social Security Check...
Are you looking for a job yet?
You will have to remarry, you know.
For Shirl didn't grow younger, and
people will talk if you stay hitched.
Wiggle your nose, bewitched....
Maybe she can be younger too.
No need to be switched!

How very nice for you two.
Babies again, how very delightful for you
Lack of sleep, and diapers galore!
Sleepless nights, walking the floor!
Aren't you glad you are not 76, or more?

You'll have to reregister ....The Army
The Navy, The Marines want you!
Shave your head, get in uniform.
Just in time to go to another war!

No more glasses, no more fake teeth
No more aches, and pains.
Two good solid feet beneath,
No more dizziness, or insomnia.

Play your piano with the tuba,
while doing the Rhumba...
You can even become a Seaman!
There's only one bad thing
I can find about your 28th.....
Now you have to grow older all over again!!!!

A poet like Ogden Nash, you be.
As funny, and creative, and humorous we see
But no one, not anyone could ever write
Poetry like Norm Turkel.....we love reading it
because it's always swell!

Thank you Norm for all the hours of
entertainment you provide for us all.
Happy Happy Birthday Norm...tralalala,
And many more poems to come!
Keep up the good work, Well done!

Lovingcritters & your friend,
ConSue
