Loneliness like a sea Surrounds my soul When the light fades My way wanes Darkness drifts Like a cloud coming Across the ocean When I walk alone My heart cries In sad silence Footsteps fall As I wander wide My heart longs For light lifting Warmth kindling Joy brightening In the distance Stars shine But thrice-distant How can I reach them?

This poem speaks to my heart. I can empathize with that sentiment. Since dad's death, I have been very lonely and can feel so desolate- but the Lord is my Comforter. Beautifully written, as always. The Lord has given you a wonderful gift as a wordsmith. |

Their is a contentment in the loneliness expressed here. I once wrote something about there being a comfort in a loneliness that has become a friend. I like this. So different from your other writes. I like the honesty of it.

Oh, I've so been there. Hope you're not lonely too often. But the poem is terrific.
