said the chesire cat to the hatter, mad: "why do you wear that silly hat?" to this the hatter replied quite fast: "can you think of no better question than that?" said the chesire cat through his eternal grin: "my riddles are many but i've none for mad men" the hatter taunted the cat with a large grin meant to mock: "who says i'm a man? perhaps i'm a fox or a bird or a lion or an ordinary stone. now tea time has arrived so please leave me alone" but the cat chided on his grin bloody with glee: "but, my dear hatter who says it is tea? perhaps you drink slime and your eyes lie to you. they tell you it's tea, but who's to say what is true?"
the caterpillar drew deep from his hookah, so blue and quietly mused: "you fools, nothing is true. perception is diverse your truths may be my lies whose to say your reality is better than mine?"
the hatter cursed wildly his spittle staining the air then he stopped and he grinned and said to the caterpillar: "well, if truths can be lies and slime can be tea how do you know that you're you and you're not really me? who's to say i'm not the sky and that you aren't a field of grain? who's to say if i stab myself that you wouldn't feel the pain?"
alice sat quite quietly on a cushiony mushroom observing the discussion eyes wide with unspoken doom
caterpillar said, "i could be you that much is true but then hatter, who would be me? i suppose cheshire could but then who would be he? it's best if we all just stay ourselves and leave such matters to someone else."
he puffed three times and blew smoke rings into the lazy key-lime sky
alice watched without a blink as all three faces flickered normal faces to match their silence monstrous guises when they bickered
"and what say you, dear alice? who are you today? and if you are someone else then who has taken your place?" the cat's face became quite bestial as his clenched grin dripped the words alice knew he was asking a question but noise was all she heard
said (m)alice, "you're all quite mad" and stabbed each in their turn
cheshire and pillar fell easily but hatter dodged the blade spilling his tea as he turned to flee then screaming, "see the mess you've made"
his back bubbled quite queerly his legs grew long like stalks his fingers were scissors his eyes grew together and his teeth were a fistful of rocks
his upper lip sizzled and burnt away his skin faded a greyish-green his hat was a bastard jack-in-the-box it was really quite obscene
alice fled into the forest her knife no match for the beast and his stomping gait lay trees to waste as her pursued the meat
his words were watery like a boiling gruel "the carpenter and the walrus one, your god one, mine. yet the oysters are the masters. they created, they are the divine fathers. inbred masochistic design demanded role reversal. this is what they are up there. you must understand this. there is always a lesson to be learned."
then his scissors were on her stripping flesh and dress alike fallen, on her back as he loomed over her leering or smiling or staring at her? his dark saliva spattering on her body like the fruit of a sick passion, sated
his breath reeked of fire and herb as he stooped low to whisper "the oysters are the power. but they are to aloof too see they bent their lies to pose as truth they live in dead realities."
the bastard jack-in-the box sang:
("you are my own reflection you are my image robbed of thought you are my mistake you are the best that i can do")
the hatter drew alice up holding her above the trees shaking her back and forth and she could feel every thing breaking inside
the hatter screamed as she went limp "WHICH ONE IS THE OYSTER?"
alice woke by the looking glass her skin, bruised and scarred and bleeding then she ran to get dressed had to look her best it was sunday, the carpenter's feeding

Jesus! Genius of this magnitude comes along once in a blue moon. I can't get over this! I think I may have to agree with you, this may be the best thing you've ever written. If not, then damn close. Wow, this is great.
Truly,

Holy Hell!!! THIs poem is by far the most thrilling of all!! You're a genious!! The imagery is amazing! And the wording perfect!!!!!
I really liked the
'"you fools, nothing is true.
perception is diverse
your truths may be my lies
whose to say your reality
is better than mine?"
part. If you take these words and put them in our real world context they're really true. We live our lifes mostly pretending to be someone else (or at least I like to do it) maybe even imitating our idols trying to be someone else to please all those people around us, hiding our true selves. Very powerful and thoughtful poem! Its the best one I've read!
P.s Hope I didn't messed up the messege lol!!

no anne, you didn't mess up the message. denial of self, identity confusion and their usual superficial outlets was a smaller part of the message.
the larger part was, as usual, about religion.
i drew a little imagery from the tale of the Walrus and the Carpenter from "Through the Looking Glass". i guess i could explain it here, but it's not that hard to see. plus, someone else may have a different interpretation and i don't want to discourage their sharing it.
widdle widdle blah blah i'm done.

Life is no wonderland
just your life and mine
we have so much to choose from
you may think yours is better then mine
well I will tell you
and it is fact
my life is no better
then the cat in the hat
for when thing one comes in
and then thing two
then no one knows what else to do
but then I will tell you mighty mouse will come
and then no one will have a place to run
He made a plan for you and for me
but sometimes we are like those three little mice who cant see
sometimes we are all confused just wanting to learn
watching and wondering
till the new day beguns...hehe |

thanks. no i wasn't drunk. and yes, the carpenter was jesus, at least in what i wrote. in the story of the carpenter and the walrus, the carpenter is actually said to refer to "western religion" (i.e. it's small hint towards jesus) and the walrus was to refer to "eastern religion" (something about it's size and shape and something else which lent the character to buddha. i forget now, don't guess it matters). the oysters were, naturally, humans duped into following only to be devoured at the end of the tale.
