The Cold

Contributed by jonteD on Monday, 12th January 2004 @ 08:47:41 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

It's cold, the starlit clear sky,
The chill silence across the fields,
Days are short, soon the dark,
Winter brings no joy at all.

I stop for a second, no reason,
The mind drifts back and forth,
To times when it was really hot,
Perhaps I smiled then, not now.

Where are you now, at this time,
Who are you with and why not me,
What was it that I did wrong,
Why did you say goodbye?

You are now my winter,
Cold, distant, a frown, no joy,
But you were once the summer sun,
And we talked and danced as one.

Not a word, nothing you say,
Am I not even seen as a friend,
It's cold whatever the weather,
No you, thus winter the year long.

This is painfully sad and full of emotion. Full of heartache and longing.

Very real emotion expressed here, has universal appeal... i think we can all relate.
Nicely done, enjoyed this,
~ Wendy
