Mellow word, nameless horror Take from me but dare not bother Rhyming nonsense, read not ponder Ardent need demand hat for every head? What question worth asking sought? Seek meaning in words unthought Take a new subject, that of the mind To think new thought so undermined Take what you witness in the dark of the night Take what you think of it all Give your opinion only to the needy No lack of it here, move on, move on. Dire alliteration, words not compound Ask of those who’ve suffered, Not of those unfound. What of the word, all that remains? Spoken, set down in stone, unthought of yet, No natural rhythm to these set upon Yet here they still remain For you to read and deny as must, To please my accolade Not dumb, not I, to speak my mind So little thought and need remind To those who’ve thought, but once To die, to live, a shadowed find To those who seek what’s theirs to find Cast away, repress the thought Yet I remain, and does the truth Speak I light of molten mirth? Gilder not, I’ve done my bit Is to you left, nothing more, nothing less.
