with this illness a lot of tough decisions are made
there is no choice it has to be done they cant
they can no longer make their own decisions
we as the caregiver also become their voices
can we co-exist with them and us
none of us elected to do this job it happened
we couldnt decline either it is personal pride
when caring for loved ones you are no longer alone
you become two think and act as two people strange
can we co-exist with them and us
it is a strange feeling to have to remember them
one yourself one them remembering what they like
would you have considered it before to live this way
but that is in the past now this is how it must be
can we co-exist with them and us
we live two worlds to keep them alive when the mind goes
now all our heartaches are put to the back of our mind
when things were alright was just a dream we live daily
one day we will face living as one question is can we do it
can we co-exist with them and us
