The shards of glass
lay upon the floor,
reflections of herself
she will see nevermore.
A troubled mind
trying to find
a place to hide
in the darkness.
Her heart is broken
by a love she once had,
he left her side
and made her sad.
She thought he loved her
but she was wrong,
her love for him
lasted so long.
He didn't love her
as much as she loved him,
her heart was shattered
deep within.
A true love lost
she'll never love again,
her shattered heart
will never mend.

| Having never read your poetry before I can't tell if it worked or not. It seems lately everything I read is about broken hearts and shattered dreams...crying, dying and sighing...my own stuff included. I feel like Poe...I want to get onto a lighter note... |
