I wish I could wallow
My sorrows at the bottom of a bottle
A glimmer of hope with each swallow
Or have a needle to stick
Through each bleeding vein
To temporarily numb the pain
Or for a friend for all seasons
Who can see past the reasons
I'm miserable inside
I wish God would listen
As my eyes glisten
While I contemplate suicide
I wish my mother would
Understand the hurt in what she can say
I wish my mother could see
Her little girl dying slowly each day
I wish I wasn't alone
I wish this wasn't my life
I wish that my arm
Would stop listening to my knife
I wish someone knew how I felt
I wish someone knew this pain
I wish deep down inside my soul
I thought I had something to gain
These wishes have all fallen
Upon deaf ears I cry
These wishes never came to life
And in return I die
My heart it still beats
And my lungs still breathe in air
But my soul has died on this night
A soul imprisoned by a life unfair
And so I shut my eyes to sleep
And make a last wish to God up high
My Lord, I ask of you nothing more
Please, just let me die.

Beautifully written. It's a shame that I can relate to this poem - I've suffered those times when you feel you can't accomplish anything and that you just are worth just as much.
Fortunately, I have found reassurance of life in student organizations in my school. Somewhere I belong and people I can relate to who are supportive of me.
