Theophania

Contributed by karoody on Tuesday, 20th January 2004 @ 08:15:35 AM in AEST
Topic: FriendshipPoetry

Trapped in her world of darkness
She hates what the mirror shows her
Looking at herself in disgust
Saying that no one can love her
Because this is what she's heard most of her life
How I wish she could see what I see
Her kind personality is so beautiful
As she walks around smiling at the world
Unaware that her presence brings light to a room
She says she is uncomfortable in her own skin
I say she can't see the truth
And pray for a way to show her
The grace that she brings to the lives
Of the people fortunate of knowing her

This poem is a perfect example of what I have been saying about you the short but wonderful time I have known you. That is that you are so thoughtful and so caring about other people and their feelings. What an amazing thing you have done here for your friend.

The grace that she brings to the lives
Of the people fortunate of knowing her

I really like that. Sounds like someone else I know. ;-)
