New Father

Contributed by jonbalser on Tuesday, 20th January 2004 @ 01:16:38 PM in AEST
Topic: FamilyPoems

I'm about to play a role
One Ive never traveled before
A new door is opening
To a life Ive never seen
I'm scared in a way
But happy just the same
I don't know what to expect
Or the feelings I may feel
But the love for my child
Will always feel real
I grew up without a father
No male role model to show me the way
Down the roads of life
The life I lived, missing
Important parts, will effect
My new role
But as I sit and think
To myself knowing my
Love for my child is strong
Shes not even born and
My love still climbs
I know my new role is
The road I want to take
To give someone the chance
To have the thing I missed most growing up

I really like the fact that you give a damn about your child and are willing to take care of it. Most guys would run due the huge responsibility but I got love for you on this one.

Your feeling were expressed very well in this poem. Great job.
