The Betrayal

Contributed by Elf on Tuesday, 20th January 2004 @ 05:04:12 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You built me up
oh so high.
It felt as if
I could really fly.

You told me things
I wanted to hear.
To my very heart,
you became so near.

I thought it came from the heart,
Everything you said.
But how is that possible,
When your heart is so dead?

Because you let me fall
from the clouds so high.
I fell until
I thought I would die.

And close I came.
For I had begun to depend.
For anything, everything
To no end.

But the end did come.
I found you out.
And it broke my heart
with a single clout.

So heal I did
Till I was well.
Now I've come
here to tell.

To tell you just
How bad it hurt.
But now I stand
Whole and unhurt.

And one thing is left
That I've to say.
You'll get yours!
Somewhere someday!

Your poem is well written
--------------------------------
I like the fact you recovered well,
and to this person you did tell
to get lost and they'll get theirs
you didn't cry, but dispelled your cares

Wow this was incredibly brilliant and well written. I could totally relate. I really really liked this.
'Because you let me fall
from the clouds so high.
I fell until
I thought I would die.'
That was incredible.
