In my dreams

Contributed by MissLee on Thursday, 22nd January 2004 @ 04:56:38 PM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

Silky dew covered petals of a rose,
Fragrant smells waft to my nose,
Ancient stones in the castle wall speak of long ago,
While leaves dance to and fro,
Making a sound so light to the ear,
That one can scarcely hear,
Kings of legends long foretold,
Lived in this fortress once full of gold,
Those times are long forgotten now,
And the history books try and tell us how,
But for those who lived here life was not always so great,
For some were imprisoned behind the gate,
But as history repeats itself,
The memories are kept upon my shelf,
Some in books and some in dreams,
Of longed for and forgotten scenes.

I love this. I see pictures in my minds. Ancient stone castles...I smell the roses. I wish I could write lyric poetry the way that you do. It's beautiful. I want to find something to criticize...but I can't LOL. There's just so much beauty that it overwhelms. That's it! Too much beauty....LOL.
