My Friendly Teddy

Contributed by norm on Friday, 23rd January 2004 @ 12:36:47 PM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

I bought a little teddy bear
T'was nappy white and cream,
I brought it into bed with me
To help a wistful dream.

Its eyes were black and button shape
Its nose, a button, too,
It wore a red tie 'round it's neck
The ascot, all askew.

It's chubby arms and chubby legs
were offset creamy hew,
It's short-cropped ears were close to head
and they were creamy blue.

Cute it was and looked so smart,
You'd never doubt a brain,
We played together in moonlight
incluiding in the rain.

I know some poets have live pets,
I do not criticize,
What's good for you's not good for me,
Of that you may surmise.

There's one thing we'll not argue 'bout
From you, I'll hear no peep,
Go feed your pets and you will find
To feed mine's kind of cheap.

Dear friend Norm,
Your little Teddy just sounds so sweet and cuddly and nice.
I know he will bring you lots of joy for years, and for little price.
I visited a friend in the Hospital here, and they had given him a Teddy Bear.
I wanted to steal it and take it home......but it was for a purpose!
He had open heart surgery, and when he had
to cough, he held his Teddy to his chest.
Kept him from hurting, and all the rest!
Give your little Teddy a nice big hug for me...
and maybe
someday you'll loan him out to me
This was one of your sweetest Norm
You really can be sweet can't you!?
The ugly old witch of the West
