Rose Plant

Contributed by Jaya on Tuesday, 3rd September 2002 @ 08:37:47 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

In the garden of my heart...
there sprouted a rose plant...
It was watered
with love and friendship
Rooted deep in my heart...
And when the buds they blossomed
they gave immense joy
A feeling that they'd fade one day
and maybe die as they may
enveloped my mind and gave rise to fear
But despite the inevitable truth...
that I found hard to accept
the fact remained that
those blooms had changed my heart in a special way...
And one fine day the "end" came about...
the pain was throbbing and my heart ached
to see the beloved plant decayed
The memories they still remained...
and the emotions left me overwhelmed...
Life went on till one fine day there sprouted another green sapling on that very spot...
My rose plant was reincarnated
though in a form different...
now I tend it with joy and care
as if the catastrophe will never recurr
But even if it does I know I'll get through...
cause in the soil that holds the decayed plant
is another seed waiting to be nurtured....
