What Can I Do-What Can I Say

Contributed by connie on Thursday, 29th January 2004 @ 03:06:44 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You came into my life bringing happiness, sunshine,
And all the colors of the rainbow with you

Now you are gone, and clouds of sadness and loneliness
Are rolling in, replacing the sunshine

I thought you were my friend, someone to
Wish upon a star with
Climb the highest mountain with
To laugh and cry with
But now I cry alone with no one to hear

What can I do-what can I say

Teardrops fall from my eyes, clouding my vision
Making it difficult to see the next day
And the next available frog, that might be
My Prince Charming sitting and
Waiting patiently for me

What can I do-what can I say

Loneliness and sadness have a hold on me
I struggle to break free of these
Chains of despair and darkness,
But they are strong, and I am getting
Weaker and weaker

Someday my Prince Charming will come
(so I have been told) to rescue me
But it is getting harder and harder to keep
The small flame of Hope
Burning brightly

When and How he will come-I do not know
Only God in His infinite wisdom
Will know and provide the right frog
For me

What can I do-kiss more and more frogs
Knowing someday Mr. Right will
Be hopping into my life, and the
Sunshine and rainbows will be back

What can I do-grab the brass ring and
Hang on for dear life
Take the tiger by the tail and
Never let him go
Because there are no second chances in
The Game of Life
