I have never uttered a lie
Never spoke a word untrue
Nothing but total honesty
Is all I had to offer you
The truth is really all I have
In this meaningless life of mine
The solidarity of my word
An honesty so divine
I made you many promises
Never was one broken
Though for some time I felt I had
After my first goodbye was spoken
One of the first promises I made
I said, Ill never give up on you
When I left you, I thought I had
With my feelings so askew
Over the last few weeks
Ive searched my heart through
Since then Ive come to realize
My promise still holds true
With hope wearing thin
I sometimes feel Id like to break
Just this one promise of mine
But its not my decision to make
This promise belongs to my heart
One it wont let go
Holding onto a promise it made
Such a long time ago
So, with my honesty intact
I say, Ill never give up on you
Not for as long as I walk this earth
I just hope my heart pulls through
