Just a little girl A sweet child of six doesn't deserve the constant lies And streams of clinics
Fake names and dates For all the new hurts While she sits there and cries And he pretends to comfort
She knows better than to look at him As they ask how it happened "I fell" she says That's why her eye is blackened
When they get home She runs to her room She sits scared on her bed In the darkness and gloom
Then the door opens And a chill runs down her spine She doesn't know what will happen She looks for a sign
A hand crack across her face And she falls to the ground He turns on the radio To drown out the sound
Before she can get up She feels a kick in her side She looks around the room But find no place to hide
"I'm sorry!" she yells For what she's unsure But it will do no good There's more pain to endure
As the world finally goes dark She feels no more pain She knows that after today She'll never be hurt again
As they take him away The neighbors watch and cry "Such a sweet child" they say "It wasn't her time to die"
