You say you love me more than anything Given your track record, how can I be sure? You say with my love, you can defy everything How can I be sure you're not the same as before?
You have screwed with my head so many times Expecting me to welcome you back with open arms Trying to lure me back with chocolates and rhymes Just so you can be the one who abuses and harms
I dont need all that harm, abuse and the other **** You messing with my head, is the last thing I need When you next ball your fist, it wont be me you hit I want to be released from my shackles and be freed
You cant love anyone, you are incapable of emotion You solve and start problems with your anger and fists You cant give me what I desire, being love and devotion You drove me to drink, use drugs and even slit my wrists
I cant go on like this, I will surely die if I stay any longer I cant take your vicious taunts and your abusive rage I wont put up with you anymore, for I am much stronger I have moved on, and now I look in from outside the cage

I really liked this poem. I liked the way the speaker overcomes the abuse. No one needs that in their lives. I especially loved the last line. It was just perfect. I'm here if you ever want to talk. Keep up the good work! |
