Melodies

Melodies play inside my head; Sweet, long-ago echoes of innocent love, That wrap me in sweater-warmth, Lulling me into a lavender melancholy.
Laughter ricocheting off dreams of yesteryear; Bringing me into specific alignment with my soul. Playtime was our time. Our special way of loving. God, how I miss how your hand felt in mine.
Words promised, but long since forgotten. Hearts straining to beat as one; Never quite in synch, but close. So, so close.
Play on, sweet song. Play on, while I dream Of yesterday . . . of youth . . . of us.

This is absolutely beautiful! You can almost hear sweet melodious music in the background. Beautiful Imagery. This instilled a great deal of nostalgia. Very lovely. Keep writing. |
