Clubbin' (Lee-Smith)

Contributed by Beadle on Tuesday, 3rd February 2004 @ 02:59:13 PM in AEST
Topic: SongLyrics

You've got the clothes,
You've got the money,
But you haven't got the friends,
You would go out Tonight if y'had somebody to go with,
But y'don't,
So you go cue up on your own,
For two hours in the blisterin' cold,
And they ask you who you're here with Tonight,
And you say you're on your own,
And you both act like it's ok,
But it'll never be ok,
No it'll never be ok,
No it'll never be,
Not it'll never be,
Ok!

You go in and you catch a glance,
But it ain't the look of love, that you're hoping for,
And if you're looking, apparently this makes you a bad person,
This is the club I like to go,
Where the girls are apparently oh so easy,
Well I've tried and they're not, they're just sleazy,
Surely you agree,
I don't want a one night stand or just a pull,
I want someone who really loves me,
Someone who loves me for me,
Not who I could be with a little training,

Dance with some strangers alltogether,
But you're still alone,
And you may meet some aquaintance,
Who doesn't know you and doesn't even want to,
They wanna laugh at you behind your back,
Two-faced people need to grow up or just shut up,
Before you punch 'em in the face,
But it won't do no good because they were ugly in the first place,

I thought it would find me another,
Soul to converse with,
Who'll understand,
That's what I had planned,
That's what I always plan,
It's a non-reality,
But this I now can see,
But what should I say,
And what should I do when I get there?
I think I know but it never turns out right,
She walks away and talks to another guy,

Maybe a friend of a friend,
On which I can depend,
Who can tell me,
What I need to know,
And where I need to go,
I'm happy when I drink, but that don't last too long,
Maybe I just come on too strong,

If life is not that satifactory, go to church. I mean find one that will allow you to be out of your self. Being alone is not very fun.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
