Who am I?
I don't remember anymore
I have given the best years of my youth
To folly and love so fickle
Love is but a delicate display
Of sorrow and wisdom
A river of tears
Revealing the reflection
Of what could have been
Who am I?
Do you remember?
I'm the face inside your mind
Faded away
I'm the loving whisper
When you think the end is near
Do you bid me leave?
I will never forsake your past
I have no where else to go
Who am I?
I'm your company
When you're alone
I'm the lovely hand, slipped away
This love has become
A delicate display
Eroded and worn away
A painting of no worth
A lament played out of tune
A memory long forgotten
Who am I?
I'm the mourning Mona Lisa
In the night I shed my tears
Before the cruel sun
Shines upon my artificial hopes
And reveals to me the lies
Of what will come to pass
And gives me reason to smile
Let alone survive
Who am I?
I am but a dream now
A ghost that casts a shadow
Upon all light and hope
A haunting spectre of your past
Within your soul I dwell
In forsaken places locked away
Corrupting empty truth
Yet within you I shall dwell
For a thousand eternities
With all false hopes and memories
Of shadow and of fear
Where are the happy dreams?
Whence do they abide?
Of the laughter and the moonhine?
Of night's kindest hour?
Time has stolen them
For reason to live on
And all that's left of you
...Is me...
Do not bid me leave
These scars won't heal so swiftly
Like all your memories
And I cannot forgive
What you have done to me
So do not bid me leave
I will never set you free
