The Craft of Monkeys

Contributed by phildel on Thursday, 5th September 2002 @ 06:26:19 AM in AEST
Topic: HumorPoetry

Monkeys, possess an incredible craft,
Who can say what the monkeys think?
When they exchange glances with eachother,
Then to eachother, they subtly wink.

Is it just, they're experiencing a twitch,
Slight facial discomfort in form of an itch,
I just don't know, can't really be sure,
The monkeys could be plotting,
To set sail for our shore!

In the Malaysian jungles,
Of which I have travelled,
The crafts of the monkeys,
Came quite unravelled...

They swarmed all around me,
Brought me to their town
Tied me to a tree
Refused to let me back down,

Then they disgracefully,
Revealed...their arses,
How rude!? Although admittedly,
I did not have my glasses...

And I did awake the next morning,
With, in my field of view,
A rock resembling a monkey,
Actually, there were quite a few...

So, perhaps it was all a dream,
Reality does take it's swirls,
Though I still have an inckling,
That the monkeys are plotting,
To take over the world!!
