My Own Personal Hell

An emptiness that doesn't end A bond of sadness that doesn't bend It holds me down And turns my mouth into a frown An anger that doesn't quit Just makes me want to hit I scream to the ceiling The release is healing But it's never enough And makes life seem so tough People look at me And what do they see? A sweet little child With a temper so mild That's not real That's not how I feel But nobody really cares As long as they don't have to see my nightmares I have to see them every night As I succumb to sleep and lose the fight I wake trembling and scared But I get up and leave, my fears unshared There's a coldness that runs so deep Very little sanity do I keep I think I'm on the edge I just might slip over the ledge The pain in my soul Swallows me whole And I'm left as a shell Living my own personal Hell
