We Must Burn

Contributed by Tichawangana on Friday, 6th February 2004 @ 01:18:34 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

We are artists. We are rivers peacefully flowing towards an unknown and unseen ocean. We are droplets of water caressing the rocks that shape our passage to the sea We are the song of nature that is writing itself as it goes along. A different chorus for every day.

We are the splashes of life- evaporating into each other. Flowing peacefully to the sea.
But we must burn. Every so often, as artists we must burn. Unrepentantly, unreservedly we must explode into flame and incinerate the barriers that attempt to hold us back. We must burn through even these rocks that shape our passage to the sea and create new pathways for our creativity, new choruses for our song, new warmth to fuel an even greater evaporation into the air that the world is breathing.

Leap oh my flame from thought to thought. Sizzle together a meal of word, soul and emotion. Fuse together seemingly unrelated ideas and give birth when you die- to ashes that when the world least suspects it- will leap forth and ignite a burning memory of an artist who rose from his river and melted into mettle of his age.

We must burn.
