intrepid heart loves too much
too hard, too fast
spiraling into orbit
around you
despite warnings
hail mary as she comes down the stairs
asking for dinner
when you are too busy
ignore me now
and later we will talk
in quieter tones
akin to silence
where I understand your circumstances
better than you think
believe and it will come to pass
the warmth curls in your belly
and spreads to your heart
supplanting the stone
it was only a matter of time
