trying to be friends

Topic: FriendshipPoetry

They cause you pain they bring you joy
They are more than just your play toy
They will be honest, if you can be true
Stop walking around being so blue
You want a real friend,
You will have to bend
Open your self up and let them in
They might get tired of standing on the outside of your skin
Talking to you is like talking to a wall
From the truth you do stall
You say they tell all your secrets, or are they your lies
So many people have wasted their tries
Or are your secrets ones that no one should keep
Yet you force your friends around the truth to creep
They love you and someone they must tell
You get angry and curse them with words much worse than hell
Sometimes the best friend is the friend that reveals what you hide
So you can live another day on this side
You say you have been burned once before
Now you are scared to step out the door
More than one friend is too many for you
They hang out with each other leaving you blue
Jealously is what it sounds like to me
Let your friends be free
They try to love you and you push them away
You will need them someday
One or none is good enough for you
That is your loss and for you I will not feel blue
There is no friendship that does not have some hurts involved
Not every problem for you is already solved
Friends are not perfect they will make many a mistake
Over the coals you shouldnt rake
Friendship is built and there are many a hurt
That is not a reason to bury it in the dirt
Friendship goes two ways you must give and get and get and give
That is the way that people live

Yes it does take a lot of work on both side to have a meaningful friendship.
Good for you, great job.
