Topic: Lifepoems

This 'ere tale's 'bout the Widow Birch
a cantankerous old biddy she be
always on 'bout goin' to church
rantin' whenever she sees me

Well this 'ere mornin' commin' out
from the back of the pub I be
I 'as this job fixin' the down spout
When standing there is she

"Drinkin' this time o' day" she says
"Your soul the Devil's receiving"
.......................................................
"I got this job on the pipe ways
appearences can be deceiving!"

"Appearances are what they are
folks eyes know what they see,
......................................................
you been supping with the Devil
and you b'aint a'foolin' me!"

There wern't no reasonin' with 'er
she be lookin' for a fight
.............................................
so I leaves my old wheelbarrow
outside 'er 'ouse all night!

Old Tom

How absolutely hilarious! I hope she was up early enough to see it herself. He sounds like a man after my own heart. If they are going to talk anyway, give them something worthwhile to talk about. LOL. Rita
