Look Inside...

Thinking back to another time, I'm caught in the myriad childhood dreams, As, like tiny snowflakes they drift by, Caught in the mind's grasp, or lost forever.
Then, as if by external force, I'm pulled from warm and comforting past, To face the cold and cruel reality, So unyielding; unforgiving.
Some would give way to the icy grip Of sorrow and pain, so present in the world And are blinded, thus, forevermore, To all the wonders this life has to offer.
But there are those with a ray of hope, A radiant light within their hearts, They overcome the darkness and strife, And embrace the better side of life
