Luz Na Obscuridade

Topic: LovePoetry

A silent war wages on around my broken mind
Soldiers step on dying men, ignoring screaming cries
Flying fists, stabbing words, not giving in to fear
Again, I fight a timeless war and face another year

So far removed; you dragged me in, and I was proud to fight
Beside this warrior in black, this soldier of the night
But never once I chanced to think that you could ever see
The face behind the icy mask, the person that is me.

A silent war wages on around my broken heart
If ever thought Id go this deep, I'd never want to start
If rules were unbreakable, perhaps I still would trust
And yet they stand; a barrier between the two of us

Every sunrise of my life has dawned in crystal clear
I never thought I'd have to make the choice I'm facing here
To follow what Ive always known, to stay beneath the light
To step into a world of black, my soldier of the night.

A silent war wages on around my broken soul
To stand on unfamiliar ground, or step back from it all?
To say I do not want this love is telling you a lie
I want to hold you close, and give my shoulder when you cry

Yet, the barrier still stands, and I dont know what to do
The only truth Im sure of now is what I feel for you
All the stories tell my heart that loving can be blind
A deep breath, a big step, and for once I feel alive.
