I woke up this morning with a thick throat, Just from knowing what I have to do. I cant let this go on, Ive lied for too long. The thing is, I never meant to hurt you. I get ready for the worst day of my life, I lie on my bed and wait. If I stall long enough, Maybe I wont have to face fate. I wish this werent my choice, But thats the way it has to be. For I know that you would overlook That Im pretending to be someone other than me. This towel on my bed used to bug me to no end, But now I barely notice its there. My perfectionism shadowed by worries, Of what you will say and if you will care. The words Ive tormented over, spill and overflow, They burn and scar and cause you pain. I see your hurt, I know the bitterness But that cant stop this heartbreaking rain. Maybe I shouldnt have said yes in the beginning Then we might not be here now. I see the pain in the laugh you fake, Finishing my scene as heartbreaker, I close the curtain, and take my bow.
