Here I am... thirty- seven years old today...
Got no future in sight... no new horizons in my life
I travel an unfamiliar road into an unknown future
That hasn't been written yet
Make it a good one, I've always heard
In my life?
My future is almost like my past... my present
Always unknown... always has been
And always will be to the bitter end
'Cause you see...
Only God knows... 'cause I'm no angel
Never have been... never claimed to be
I'm not perfect ... not by a longshot
There's no excuse for the things I've done
Or the things I've thought about doing to myself
I'm just a sinner like everyone else
I've fallen short of God's glory more than once
And if I get to Heaven... it will be through the grace of God
'Cause I'm no angel... just look at my life
A look... a glimpse inside
Just look at how it begun... where it has gone
Where it's at now... where it's going to?
Only God knows... 'cause I'm no angel
God could have taken me
He knows... He's had plenty of chances to
And maybe He should have...
But He hasn't yet...
For some unknown reason that...
Only God knows... 'cause I'm no angel
I'm still here... still...
Searching... always searching
Wondering... always wondering
Why?
Why was I chosen to be placed here...
In this particular family... in this particular place
Doing what I do... going where I go...
Suffering what I suffer...
Only God knows... 'cause I'm no angel

Thanks to God none of us are perfect or ever will be. The only perfect person, His son, was crucified. Jesus died on the cross to save and forgive us for our sins. I think that unless we keep committing the same sin over and over that we are forgiven for the unintentional ones. We are all children in a way, no matter our age, and still a work in progress. I have finally found contentment in myself and am much happier in my life. I wish that for you too.
