why cant you just smile
like a warm summers day
when i need cheering up
or if a friend has fallen down
and cant get up on their own
why cant you just laugh
like an old car on a cold day
or when a joke cant be helped
or when my cat meows too loud
in the middle of your favorite movie
why cant you just be kind
like a cuddly kitten in my arms
or when i need someone to talk to
when i get into trouble and I am stuck
why aren't you there for me
you are my dad aren't you?
