You look for a reflection of anything in the mirror What stares back at you is nothing more than a flicker Not really anything just a small piece of what you used to be If you were to think about it hard what is it that you see
When you stare at the reflection and yet you see nothing Where did it go what is left and what are you becoming A lonliness fills your eyes as they look back at you Where do you go from here what is there to do
Turning away from the reflection looming in the darkness A sad echo of memories of what caused this hardness The walls that protect you have also become that prison One that holds tight and steadfast at that, your decision

I've written about what I see in my mirror so many times so I really felt this poem. Thank you for sharing it with us. Kie |
