Let me.....(I need to relax)

Civilians on TV
Talking about how the war is not over
Bin Laden has not been found
And so it rages on

Im so tired of hearing
Civilians supporting the war
In Iraq

Its easy to support the war
When you dont have to be there
Its easy to say we should be there
When its not your friend risking their life

Im tired of hearing about the war on terror
The one that Ive already been a part of
Im tired of hearing about
Getting sent out again

For now let me pretend
That there is no war
Let me pretend that its 1999
All over again

Let me pretend that everythings ok
And that I dont have to worry about bin Laden
Let me smile and laugh again
Let me be carefree for a little while

Instead of asking me to fight for freedom
Please just let my soul be free
Free for just a little while
With no worries

Later I can go back to thinking
About fighting in the war
But for now will someone please
Shut off the ***** Fox News Channel?!

Wow, I rather like this . . . in fact, I think I like this a lot. You paint a very clear picture of what it must be like.

compliments,
Nora
