I tried to hate him with my whole heart
But his reasons I now see
I tried to hate him for pullin us apart
But I figured it was meant to be
I tried to love him with all I got
But he couldn't see
I tried to be the one he sought
But he fell out of love with me
I tried to turn my love to hate
He just ran away
I despise this devious fate
He wanted it his way
I lost sight of who I was before
And that's who he loved
Now he doesn't anymore
I'm back to who I am for real
But he's hiding in the past
He doesn't know how I feel
Doesn't realize how long this pain will last
