Roses and Daisys

Roses may be pretty
but they still have thorns
things aren't always what they seem
living life through rose colored lenses
protection from the world's evil.
A single daisy
surrounded by weeds
the daisy's life will be sucked out
slowly it will give up, the fight.
It can no longer go on
the daisy feels it will never win
all the other flowers have been picked
this one is left along with
no one to draw strength from.
can't go on, it's stem bows
slowly under the stress and loveless
hearts of the weeds, it will wilt.
Punched by roses thorns
strength and energy drained
by greedy weeds
always interfering
blocking out the sun.
It will soon die
it can feel it coming
soon.
