i caught myself thinking of you
its funny because its been awhile too
it put a smile on my face
because my thoughts began to retrace
all the things that endeared you to me
the silly things others didn't see
sweet kisses we'd always share
the risk you took letting me cut your hair
playing dominoes in the basement just for fun
and then a game of spades when that games done
keeping me company when i decide to cook
or just giving me space to relax and read a book
not questioning me when i decide to go out
not letting disagreements come to a shout
letting your kids be apart of my life
asking me to be your wife
the love you always gave to me
the truth you helped me see
allowing me to walk away
the friendship we still have today
these things make me think of you
and some of the fun things we use to do
so I will keep them in my memories of love
as there is not better place I can think of
