THE INCESSANT HEAT WILL BE CEASING SOON
THE CHILL OF AUTUMN IS IMMINENT
ON THE HORIZON
IT AMBLES ALONG
YET COMES TOO QUICKLY
DOES NOT LINGER
IN NO TIME AT ALL YOU WILL BE GONE
YOUR HAND IS ALREADY ON THE DOOR KNOB
SO HASTILY TAKING YOUR LEAVE AS
THE LEAVES BEGIN FALLING
BARING THEIR LIMBS
AS YOU BARED MY BODYMY SOUL
YOU DID NOT DECEIVE ME
(NEVER TRIED)
ALWAYS SPOKE THE TRUTH
LIKE MOSES ON THE MOUNT
I NEVER BROKE YOUR COMMANDMENTS
(NOT ONE)
BUT YOU SAID YOU COULD NOT LOVE
(WOULD NOT)
AND NOW AS SUMMER FADES INTO A MEMORY
WE MUST SAY GOODBYE
