SHAMELESS!

Contributed by steeleyes on Friday, 5th March 2004 @ 07:24:00 AM in AEST
Topic: political

Some relatives said the use of such pictures was distasteful.

Relatives of victims killed in the 11 September 2001 attacks have criticised George W Bush for using images from the tragedy in his campaign advertisements.

Some of the families have complained that the images exploit those killed in the attacks and are in poor taste.

"It's totally disgusting," said Dawn Peterson, whose brother died in the attack on the World Trade Center.

O/

The horror of 9/11 he has started to USE
To frighten you, to bully and to confuse

Hell use your grief and your fear
To win out in this election year

Now he only has one puny line
Onward..., forward. All is fine.

Now watch carefully his ev'ry move
See what OTHER lies he can PROVE

He'll tell it all has a point
And dying is worthwhile

Hes working night and day
To give that SKULL a SMILE

But WORST of all is that hell use
The ghost of 9/11 to confuse

This disrespect is typical of Bush ploys
He doesn't care what feelings he destroys

And say hes made you safer? How??
Well, look in Iraq. Al-Qaeda... NOW!

Are you going to fall for it?? One more time??
Well, its not HIS life thats on the line

Hes going to give it this positive gloss
To say its all well worth the cost

This man is SHAMELESS and USES the dead
The relatives know it and they see red!

Such a shameless coward to use what serves
Throw him out. It's all he deserves...

This one's more vitriolic, and if I may say, one of the best I've read from you so far. It has a stoic rhythm and, because of the grave nature of its subject matter, expounds very well the general incredulity that this Bush administration continuously evokes in me, and everyone else who gives a sh*t.
Keep it up, steel - we appreciate it.
