Golden afternoons baskning in sunlight all these memories have compiled into one a single pleasant thought to rest my head on
this feeling will be my "feel good pill" the one I use to numb the outside world when nothing else will do
so many nights alone days passed so slow chilling me to the bone
flowers still bloomed how could they manage? even the sweet sunlight wasn't tempting
perfect days were passed long before sailing on seas of uncertainty my mind is a ship that is tattered by an angry currents
how could I miscalculate the pain to assume that it is all okay it will never be that way
on a still night in a peaceful sleep I was shaken awake
the flowers wilted so did I froze in time, but lingering on
dealing with this is impossible accepting it is the hard part I'm missing your face and waiting for someone to take me home

I was attracted to this because I also have written a poem called "Broken." Mine is short and talks about how I've come to find healing, but yours is still a gaping wound. How could the flowers bloom when the one I love is gone from me? The pain is so obvious and deep. You might try tightening it some, but you have the gist of the feeling captured.
