Didst I not grieve for beauty fell?
Once moved by whom I cannot tell
Songs of old and stories anew
Marked with life and told of you.
Tears of whispers for thou unseen
Removed from life, restored thou art be.
By words that pierce a devil's eye
Are kept within for I will cry
No rising sun or lover's touch
Would ever survive and mean this much
Plagued by this poison and loss of thee
Consumed am I from sight to see
Like a broken heart that bleeds within
I die with her who dies in sin
